Meaning and Definition of Kalma
The word “Kalma” (Arabic: كلمة) means “word” or “statement.” In Islam it refers to the announcement of faith that summarize central beliefs. The first and most important Kalma known as Kalma Tayyab states:
لا اله الا الله محمد رسول الله
(Laa ilaaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah)
“There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
This declaration forms the basis of the Islamic faith and is recited by every Muslim as an statement of their belief.

لفظ “کلمہ” (عربی: كلمة) کا مطلب ہے “لفظ” یا “بیان”۔
اسلام میں، اس سے مراد ایمان کا اعلان ہے جو مرکزی عقائد کا خلاصہ کرتا ہے۔ پہلا اور اہم ترین کلمہ جسے کلمہ طیب کہا جاتا ہے فرماتے ہیں:
لا الہ الا اللہ محمد رسول اللہ
“اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اللہ کے رسول ہیں۔”
